Creating Your Own Lesson
If you would like to create your own Art Lesson, here is some helpful information and things you’ll need!
Be sure to coordinate with the teacher on times for Art Masterpiece and whether you’ll use the Maker Space or the Classroom.
Choose an Artist and Project. There is a link to additional lesson ideas above! Google is great as well (example search: 3rd Grade Art Lessons)
Check the Maker Space for Supplies. If you need to make a request, please email artmasterpiece@sveptso.com. If you end up purchasing supplies yourself, email us we will send you a reimbursement form. Please be mindful of cost as this is funded by the PTSO and Donations.

If you need the electronic board for a PowerPoint, PDF or Video, email it to the teacher ahead of time.
Show a sample of the project. Can be one you’ve pre-made or a picture example.

The Maker Space is Room 115 and is located on the right side after the front office.

Once Per Month Ideal (4 Months Minimum)
We have provided 4 Complete Lessons for K-2, 3-4, and 5-6 will be provided in BLACK filing bin in the Maker Space

Your teacher will book the room through their own link, BUT…
You only need to book through this link if you are using the pre-selected projects and need to use those materials located in the Black Filing Box.

The 4 pre-selected projects can be found in the Maker Space on the open shelves in a BLACK storage bin. They are separated by Grade Level. These are just optional, but will be your easiest options because they are already planned and supplies will be stocked. We will post a link with digital files to review before your lesson, but hard copies are in the Black Bin.
You are welcome to do any grade level appropriate project as well. We will post links to some other ideas as well!

General Time to Plan for - 60-90 Minutes. It’s best to arrive 15 minutes early to set-up and then stay a little bit after for clean up.

5-10 Minutes for Lesson Time, the rest for Creating! Keep it quick and simple.

1-2 Parents are Ideal for each lesson, but you can have more if you’d like. 2 parents works best so one can help with handouts and supplies while one does the lesson. Then you both can walk around and help out.

Save FOUR projects and store in Maker Space for the end of the year Art Walk. There will be designated spaces in the cabinets in the Maker Space.
The rest can be taken home.

No, you can either book the Maker Space or do the lesson in the classroom. Coordinate with the teacher to come up with a game plan.

All supplies for the 4 selected projects will be stocked in the Maker Space. If you need to request supplies, email artmasterpiece@sveptso.com in advance and we can order them for you!
